With nearly five decades of experience, Yorkshire-born actor Paul Butterworth has delivered memorable character performances in films such as The Full Monty, the BBC/HBO series Strike, and Richard Eyre’s Allelujah.
The son of a vicar, Paul trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in the 1970s, earned a Combined Studies degree from Leeds Beckett University in the 1980s, and in 2024 was awarded a BA in Painting by the University for the Creative Arts.
When not acting, he creates bold, abstract works in his studio in Cambridge, where he now lives.
